There are different types of management systems that organisations (e.g. firms, companies) can implement in the different sectors they operate in (e.g. manufacturing, food, services, construction, etc.) with reference to requirements expressed by a series of international standards such as:
- ISO 9001:2008 for Quality Management Systems
- ISO 14001:2004 for environmental management systems
- ISO 50001:2011 for Energy Management Systems
