CAN WHITE CERTIFICATES BE REQUESTED FOR A PHOTOVOLTAIC SYSTEM?

TEE (Energy Efficiency Titles) can be obtained for Photovoltaic systems - less than 20 kW and for residential, agricultural and tertiary sector installation - for which tax deduction or other types of incentives have not been requested (e.g. Conto Energia - Energy Account). As an alternative, in the residential sector, a Photovoltaic system may access the 50% tax deduction mechanism.

WHAT ARE WHITE CERTIFICATES?

Energy Efficiency Titles, also called White Certificates, are titles certifying energy savings resulting from the realisation of specific energy efficiency interventions. They have been introduced with Italian Ministerial Decrees of July 20th 2004 with the purpose of promoting the realisation of energy efficiency improvement interventions.

Energy efficiency improvement is certified by GME (Energy Markets Management) issuing Energy Efficiency Titles (TEE); every TEE corresponds to 1 tep (Tonnes of oil equivalent) of energy saved; TEE are exchanged on a market regulated by GME or through bilateral negotiations.
